My father died a few years back and this last song is for, and about him. He was never much of a talker and never really confided in anyone. When he got sick, I think I expected that he would open up and talk about himself a little bit. He didn’t. When he passed away, I then hoped that maybe there would be some writing hidden in his drawer to help us with our grief. There was nothing there. He left the world exactly the way he lived; quietly and with absolutely no fuss about himself. Being a very different person, I’m still trying to grasp who he really was and I’m quite sad that he didn’t tell me at least some of his secrets.
